Meiwood Limited ('Meiwood' or we') is committed to protecting your privacy, so before providing us with any of your details, you must read the following important information. This sets out how we collect and process your personal data through your use of the Meistreet app (‘Meistreet‘ or app), or where we otherwise obtain or collect your personal information.

We are the Data Controller for the information that you provide to us. We are committed to being transparent about how we collect and use your data and meeting our data protection obligations.

2. How We Collect or Obtain Personal Information About You

Information Collected From You

We do not collect any personally identifiable data about you through the use of the app. We do however collect the following, none of which can be attributed back to you and is not tracked across any other websites or apps:

  • Apple device identifier (not personally identifiable)
  • Apple transaction identifier (not personally identifiable)
  • I.P. address (this is hashed at collection so as to not be personally identifiable)
  • Anonymous (and optional) profile characteristics (not personally identifiable)

Information Received From You Directly

We do not actively look to collect personally identifiable data, however, if you contact Meiwood directly via email, mail or phone, you will need to view the full Meiwood Privacy Policy.

Information Received About You From Third Parties

We do not receive any information about you from third parties.

Information Collected From Your Use of Our App

We collect anonymous analytics data through SimpleAnalytics to understand how our app is used. This data is privacy-focused and cannot be used to identify you. We do not collect diagnostic information from the use of our app. We do collect data from the use of the API. This is anonymised at the point of collection and is used to ensure the API is working, and to inform future feature development.

RevenueCat Data Collection

Our app uses RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases. RevenueCat collects:

  • App Instance ID
  • Device type and OS version
  • Purchase history
  • Subscription status
  • App version

This data is used solely to:

  • Process in-app purchases
  • Manage subscription status
  • Provide customer support
  • Analyze purchase patterns

RevenueCat does not:

  • Track users across apps
  • Sell user data
  • Use data for advertising

3. How We Use Your Personal Information

We will only use your anonymised personal information when the law allows us. Most commonly, we will use your personal data in the following circumstances:

  • We use anonymous analytics data to understand how our app is used, improve user experience, and inform future development decisions. This data cannot be used to identify individual users.
  • We use device identifiers (Apple’s device identifier or hashed I.P. address) to understand API usage levels and set rate limits.
  • We use transaction identifiers to reconcile orders and for any follow-up support on bugs post-purchase of any premium features.
  • We use anonymous profile characteristics (such as price bands of a property search, or whether the user has pets) to personalise features within the app and provide relevant statistics to users.
  • We use all of the information above to perform analysis and build more relevant features for our users in the future.

Other circumstances for which we may use your personal data include:

  • Administrative and business purposes.
  • Communicating with our business advisors and legal representatives.
  • In connection with disclosure requests and in the case of a business or share sale or sale or purchase of a business and/or assets, whether actual or potential.
  • Enforcing our legal rights.
  • Indicating possible criminal acts or threats to public security to a competent authority. 
  • In connection with any legal or potential legal dispute or proceedings. 
  • Complying with laws, regulations and other legal requirements, for example record-keeping regulatory monitoring and reporting obligations etc.

4. Opting Out and Data Retention

You can opt out of anonymous analytics collection at any time through the app settings. Where we process your personal information on the basis of your consent, you can withdraw your consent to such processing at any time by emailing us at [email protected] or writing to us at:

How Long We Retain Your Personal Information

In general, we will retain your information for no longer than necessary, taking into account the following:

  • the purpose(s) for which we are processing your personal information, such as whether it is necessary to continue to store that information in order to continue to perform our obligations under a contract with you or for our legitimate interests;
  • whether we have any legal obligation to continue to process your information, such as any record-keeping obligations imposed by applicable law; and
  • whether we have any legal basis to continue to process your personal information, such as your consent.

Where you contact us with an enquiry, we will retain your information for as long as it takes to respond to and resolve your enquiry, and for a reasonable further period, after which point we will delete your information.

5. Data Security and International Transfers

How We Secure Your Personal Information

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to secure your personal information and to protect it against unauthorised or unlawful use or processing as well as against the accidental loss or destruction of, or damage to, your personal information, including:

  • only sharing and providing access to your personal information to the minimum extent necessary, subject to confidentiality restrictions where appropriate, and on an anonymised basis wherever possible;
  • using secure servers to store your personal information;
  • where possible, verifying the identity of any individual who requests access to personal information prior to granting them access to personal information;
  • only transferring your personal information via closed system or encrypted data transfers.

Transmission of information (including personal information) over the internet is not entirely secure, and if you submit any information to us over the internet (whether by email, via our website or any other means), you do so entirely at your own risk. We are not responsible for any costs, expenses, loss of profits, harm to reputation, damages, liabilities or any other form of loss or damage suffered by you as a result of your decision to transmit information to us by such means.

International Data Transfers

We may need to transfer and use your personal information outside of the country where we collect it from you. We implement appropriate measures to protect your personal information when we transfer your personal information outside of your home country such as data transfer agreements that incorporate standard data protection clauses. The data privacy laws in the countries we transfer it to may not be the same as the laws in your home country. Law enforcement agencies, regulatory agencies, security authorities or courts in the countries we transfer your personal information to may have the right to see your personal information.

Our analytics provider, SimpleAnalytics, processes data in compliance with GDPR and privacy regulations. Their servers are located in the European Union, ensuring that your anonymous usage data remains protected under European data protection standards.

Additional information if you are based in the European Economic Area (EEA)

The European Commission recognises that some countries outside the EEA have similar data protection standards. The full list of these countries is available here.

If we transfer your personal information to a country not on this list, we do so based on standard contract clauses adopted by the European Commission. These enable us to make international transfers of personal information within our group of companies and meet the data protection laws of the European Union and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Meistreet does not make use of cookies as it does not track you. The app does store data on your device for the app to operate, this data is only accessible from the App itself and is not used to track you. This is managed through UserDefaults and securely through Keychain on Apple devices. This data cannot be accessed by Meiwood and is not shared with other apps.

  • to request access to your personal information and information related to our use and processing of your personal information;
  • to request the correction or deletion of your personal information;
  • to request that we restrict our use of your personal information;
  • to receive personal information which you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format (e.g. a CSV file) and the right to have that personal information transferred to another Data Controller (including a third party Data Controller);
  • to object to the processing of your personal information for certain purposes (for further information, see the section below entitled 'Your right to object to the processing of your personal information for certain purposes'); and
  • to withdraw your consent to our use of your personal information at any time where we rely on your consent to use or process that personal information.

For your protection, and to protect the privacy of others, we may need to verify your identity before completing what you have asked us to do. Where we have relied upon your permission to use your personal information, and you later withdraw that permission, we may not be able to complete some of the activities described in 'How we use your personal information' above.

8. Objection Rights and Automated Decision-Making

Your Right to Object to Processing

You have the following rights in relation to your personal information, which you may exercise in the same way as you may exercise the rights in the preceding section:

  • to object to us using or processing your personal information where we use or process it in order to carry out a task in the public interest or for our legitimate interests, including 'profiling' (i.e. predicting your behaviour based on your personal information) based on any of these purposes;

Our Use of Automated Decision-Making

We do not use profiling within Meistreet for decision-making. Profiling is the use of personal information about an individual to predict that individual's behaviour.

We use the anonymous profile data you provide to present back statistics and commentary within the app. This data is not used to predict behaviour or make decisions about you.

9. Updates and External Websites

How We Update This Privacy Notice

From time to time, we will update this Privacy Notice. Any changes become effective when we post the revised Privacy Notice on our Privacy Centre. If changes are significant, we will provide a more prominent notice to let you know what the changes are.

Our Responsibility Regarding External Websites

Our websites and applications may contain links to websites or mobile applications we do not own or control. Our Privacy Notice does not cover them. Please read the privacy notices on those websites and mobile applications if you would like to find out how they collect, use and share your personal information.
